I can add some of the XML specs that are heavily used in publishing if
it helps --
. XML, XInclude, XML Schema
. XSLT, XPath
. XQuery
. XProc
. XSL-FO (I know, I know, move to CSS when it's ready :-) )

(there are tons of non-W3C specs that are also important, of course,
such as Onyx, Prism, JDF, JATS and BITS, OID, etc etc; maybe there would
be use in having a central list, I don't know)
