I have filed a report on it, but the priority is very low since this is  
not a spec violation and so far has not caused any compatibility issues  
that I can see.

I agree. Similarly, even though the major desktop browser engines all use  
1px for 'thin', the CSS tests shouldn't require that.

Seems to me that when testing the basic fundamentals, sooner or later the  
point is reached where the tests need to be visual, to avoid circular  
dependencies in the references.
