I revisited all of the direction-applies-to-* tests and after a lot of
reading and some hesitation, I decided to modify 9 of those tests and to
tune the text assert.

'direction' property does not apply to non-block-containers as it does
not have a rendering effect on non-block-containers. What the original
version of the tests were counting on (and demonstrating rather) is
propagation (inheritance) of the direction value into the subtree of
elements (eg like a table-row-group) in which case it was then
affecting, styling encountered block containers (eg like table-cells).
