Here's [some feedback](https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=932109#c4) from one of the Chromium developers about increasing the maximum element sizes: > Realistically we can't increase the max size without severely regressing memory usage across the board. > The fact that roughly the same limit applies to multiple implementations reinforces this tradeoff.
