IMO Preprocessors always have a place in development workflow. -> ["Don’t do it at runtime. Do it at design time."](https://medium.freecodecamp.org/dont-do-it-at-runtime-do-it-at-design-time-c4f59d1775e4) And I'm generally happy with the current version of the spec.
