Exactly, this is similar to OCSP Stapling, where users
periodically retrieve signed validity status statements (VSSs) from
issuers, and present them to relying parties.

This could be same URL as the revocation one, or alternatively a
different URL, thereby using the Internet as a state machine, where only
one URL will return a response, the other will return Not Found.
