COGA user needs statements from ETSI guidelines

Hi everyone

Following on from our discussions last week about the problems with digital labels, I was wondering if everyone had seen the European ETSI guidelines covering "Human Factors (HF); Guidelines for the design of mobile ICT devices and their related applications for people with cognitive disabilities" https://www.etsi.org/deliver/etsi_eg/203300_203399/203350/01.01.01_60/eg_203350v010101p.pdf

Annex A of the design guidelines contain brief functional statements for cognitive disabilities which are discussed in detail in the associated report: "Human Factors (HF); Functional needs of people with cognitive disabilities when using mobile ICT devices for an improved user experience in mobile ICT devices" https://www.etsi.org/deliver/etsi_tr/103300_103399/103349/01.01.01_60/tr_103349v010101p.pdf

Coming across these again today, I was wondering if it would be useful for us to align our COGA documentation to these statements as

  1. They have already aligned their guidelines to WCAG success criteria where relevant
  2. It may help with the development of Silver which is currently bundling "cognitive" into one user need.

I am happy to work up these functional statements as part of the glossary work we have planned.

Regards

Abi
