RE: Few words on each of us

I work with the XMetaL team at JustSystems as well, so I don't have too much to add beyond what Tom Magliery has stated.

We've had a working implementation for change tracking in XMetaL based on PIs going back to about 1999. There is quite a bit of subtlety behind why we feel PIs are a good choice so we will be able to bring those ideas to the discussion.

Having said that, if someone comes up with a radically different solution that makes more sense we'll be on board with it.

Hello everyone,

I work for XMetaL (JustSystems). We have one of the first (if not the first) XML change tracking implementations, using PIs to represent insertions and deletions in a document. In addition, we did a very great amount of design and implementation on much more sophisticated tracking of comments and annotations with regard to our (former) XMetaL Reviewer product, and its integration with XMetaL Author. Ultimately those annotations are PI-based as well. I believe the work we did there will be of great value here, and we are looking forward to the discussions.

Dear all,

Welcome to the Change Tracking Community Group

I would like each of us to say few words on themselves (I would like to put a short summary on the wiki for future newcomers)

Thanks

Mohamed
