Hello,

XHTML Basic 1.1, the specification that describes the profile of XHTML
adapted to mobile devices, and the results of the convergence of the OMA
and W3C work on the topic, has just been announced as a Proposed
Recommendation, the penultimate stage before its promotion as a W3C
Recommendation:
http://www.w3.org/TR/2008/PR-xhtml-basic-20080611/

This is a good news for the Mobile Web in general, and for the Mobile
Web Best Practices in particular, since the Best Practices' dependency
on XHTML Basic 1.1 is the reason why they have been kept at the
"Proposed Recommendation" status for so long.
