Re: Mapping new properties to existing ontology properties

I added a comment to the document asking about the use of skos:clasoeMatch. It has very weak semantics. From https://www.w3.org/TR/skos-reference/#mapping , “The property skos:closeMatch is used to link two concepts that are sufficiently similar that they can be used interchangeably in some information retrieval applications. In order to avoid the possibility of "compound errors" when combining mappings across more than two concept schemes, skos:closeMatch is not declared to be a transitive property.”

I would prefer to use something stronger at least for those cases we do mean real equivalence.

Finally, if the only reason to introduce sos is for closeMatch it may be worth considering using rdfs:seeAlso <https://www.w3.org/TR/rdf-schema/#ch_seealso> instead - same weak semantics, and we wouldn’t have to deal with another spec.

Cheers,
Melanie
