Is Web Audio a realtime API?

Specification lists performance and latency considerations, but does not explicitly state if API is realtime or not. It would be good to improve the situation and make things more clear. It is very important for e.g. game developers to have as low latency as possible and be in control of situation. 
The other thing, has it been considered to add low latency profile/mode or ability to query API for graph latency?
