Yes. We could also consider doing this in parallel to the work on v1.

We will need to dedicate a lot of effort in the necessary implement-test-improve loops but I am not getting a sense that everyone in the group is fully engaged there.

Part of the group could start a task force looking at improving/fixing ScriptProcessorNode in a branch. So long as this does not derail the current work on "v1", I see no reason not to try.
