Audio WG summary, 1-14 July 2012

This is a summary of WG activity (mailing-list, bugzilla and spec change sets) for the two weeks between 1st and 14th of July.

There were a lot of interesting demos and apps shared among the group, feeding discussion:

* Chris built both a vocoder and a graphic demo tool for his I/O talk:

* Matt built an experiment in synthesizing an ambient sound texture:

* Rainer shared his work on audio editor plucked:

* Peter is working on a modular synth:

A few of the issues discussed in the fortnight:

* Limit in sample or ms for circular routing
	http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-audio/2012JulSep/0001.html
The issue had been addressed during our teleconference on May 30th with a tentative resolution, but it remains confusing and the resolution uncertain for many. Chris and Matt at the BBC have started looking at how similar platforms and APIs typically deal with the issue of circular routing, and should soon come back to the group with suggestions/recommendation.

* More discussions on setTargetValueAtTime naming and JavaScriptAudioNode processing in workers

Work on documents is going steady:

* The group resolved to re-publish the web audio API spec as a public working draft
	http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-audio/2012JulSep/0106.html

* I have been working on the use cases and requirement, aiming to get it ready for public consumption soon. Recent feedback, including a review by Michael Cooper of the PFWG - http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-audio/2012AprJun/0852.html
And, good news, a new co-editor will be joining that effort from the end of July. Announcement soon.
