Great to hear you would like to contribute to this work.

Generally, I would advise you to subscribe to the list if you haven't 
yet, and have a fresh look at the things we have published or worked on 
so far: use cases and requirements, drafts of the Web Audio API and 
MediaStreams Processing API, as well as a companion document to explain 
the difference between the last two.

You will be interested to know that MIDI is a growing focus for the 
group, with a few of us working on a draft proposal. If you haven't had 
a chance to do so yet, it could be interesting to look through the 
archives for mentions of MIDI to know what we have discussed so far, and 
chime in if you have anything to add?
