Distance attenuation is handled in the Web Audio API like it is in OpenAL.

The distance models are defined exactly as OpenAL.  Please see section 3.4:

FYI, if I remember correctly OpenAL defines distance models by reference to
IASIG I3DL2:
http://www.iasig.org/pubs/3dl2v1a.pdf. 
 
And I think Microsoft (xbox) and Sony (playstation) also use IASIG I3DL2
definitions.
