aria-ISSUE-1051 (aria-placeholder mappings for IA2): Use object property "placeholder-text" for MSAA+IA2 mapping of aria-placeholder [ARIA 1.1 Core Mapping Specification] http://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/track/issues/1051 Raised by: Joseph Scheuhammer On product: ARIA 1.1 Core Mapping Specification Joanie noted in FF bugzilla that the object attribute that ATK/AT-SPI uses for placeholders is "placeholder-text" and has been for a while. She would like to keep it that way for the aria-placeholder mapping: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1303429 Alex has confirmed this with James Teh in terms of the name of the object attribute for IA2 on the IA2 lists: https://lists.linuxfoundation.org/pipermail/accessibility-ia2/2016-October/002202.html Recommend updating the MSAA+IA2 mapping to "placeholder-text" instead of the current "placeholder" property: https://rawgit.com/w3c/aria/master/core-aam/core-aam.html#ariaPlaceholder
