RE: Initial rotating image carousel example and design pattern for APG (Issue 458 and 43)

Hi,
I just gave it a run.

Do we have to use ARIA Tabs for a carousel? Wouldn't plain buttons with aria-current work just as well without having to force screen readers into application mode?

Also, when the Next or Previous buttons are activated, there is no indication that anything has occurred for non-sighted users, so it would be good to add a live region to convey that the slide has changed and to which one, but only when the slide is explicitly activated by a nav button and not on auto-rotation.
