Re: Re: Getting in Touch

Hello Nicholas,

The first tool http://web-accessibility.wizdes.com/main.html is quite nice. It is simple and does the basic job. There are couple of features you possibly need to add.
1. The tool can not test the URLs with " X-Frame-Options: SAMEORIGIN " header.
Try with these two URLs : https://security.stackexchange.com/
https://thecustomizewindows.com/2015/02/steps-to-install-nginx-plus-on-ubuntu-server-hp-cloud/
The second website is HSTS Preload Listed, first one simple HTTPS (test the headers with `curl -I` ).
2. Green indicator / Grey Indicator may be replaced with symbolic Icon Font for the sake of protanope web developers.

Checking this chart on Wikipedia might help. It is basically CSS work, not too technical in nature.
The second tool : http://wizdes.com/contrast-checker/ is also nice.

Agreed with the other points discussed before.

Dear Nicholas,

Thanks for the information.

Tried Greencloude. Wizdez too. It's cool and one shot. A small suggestion or request, you could take out. The first overlay after entering the URL saying Testing for WCAG 2.0 A WCAG 2.0 AA. I believe this is an information they want to provide an user and begin with.

While working with NVDA screenreader, the cursor goes back to the website on which the test is being operated instead of hitting the overlay. Could we not making it a division shown and a screenreader user could navigate easily for the check now piece. The report overlay screen too, the cursor focus set after the results . This would encourage even a less technical screenreader user to check his website for accesssibility. This is my opinion and not sure why it was designed like that. Please share your thoughts.

Thanks for the sincere efforts creating a simple testing tool.

With best regards,

Shankar

Hi Sai,

Not sure, if this will help. But we have built a little tool to check color contrast, attempting to address two issues, when using opacity (RGBA or HSLA)
01) Finding effective background or foreground color and applying WCAG contrast rules.
02) Writing the 'true' fallback color (The tool calls it flat color) for browsers that don't support RGBA/HSLA

http://wizdes.com/contrast-checker/

And all: We also have a one page accessibility checker, with a visual presentation, which (hopefully) shd be easy.

Any feedback or suggestions will help.

Hello folks,

I am a PhD research scholar at IIIT-Hyd. My interest is in making visual content accessible to vision impaired users. Does this interest anyone in the group? I am putting together a series of experiments, building some prototype systems to research & validate some of my ideas. I would love to connect with people who are interested in exploring this.

Looking forward to hearing from interested parties.
