Dear PSO PC colleagues, The document about "Broadening the scope of the PSO" that I sent last 5th June for your consideration has generated no reaction from the IETF and W3C. In the meantime, we were kindly informed by Geoff of the position of the IAB regarding the last document from the E&R Committee. From the content of this position it is crystal clear that the IETF does not support the continuation of the PSO and therefore it would support even less any extension of its scope. In parallel, ETSI has had a very intense and deep debate on the future of ICANN and the first consequence is that we are not going to push further the document "Broadening the scope of the PSO". We abandon that way. For your information, please find enclosed the ETSI position paper that ETSI has just sent to the ICANN E&R Committee and the ICANN CEO.
