Dear PSO-PC colleagues, Despite my message sent on the 13th July where I announced that no candidate from Telefónica had been found for the "new TLDs Evaluation Process Planning Task Force", I can confirm today that a candidate is available. I am aware that we have passed our own fixed deadline but, as we are still waiting for the IETF proposed candidates, I understand that the time for proposing candidates is still opened. On this basis, Gerry and I have the pleasure to submit to the consideration of the PSO-PC, a candidate from ETSI for the above mentioned Task Force: Mr Roberto Laorden. Mr Laorden is the Interim Director of Interdomain, ICANN accredited registrar 100% owned by Telefónica Data a company of the "Group Telefónica" mainly dealing with Internet matters. He is Spaniard, leaves in Madrid and participates in ICANN meetings since the creation of ICANN. He is also active in the European Commission group dealing with ".eu" and in national groups related to ".es" and other ccTLDs. He is very well known within the Spanish and South American Internet community. Mr Laorden is directly responsible of all technical, business and legal matters related to domain name registration (for both gTLDs and ccTLDs - in Spain and several countries in South America) , has a good knowledge of the DNS Root Server System and therefore can provide the required level of expertise to this Task Force.
