 Hi!

I have some ideas concerning PNG to think about.

Beginning with Gran Paradiso Alpha 3

 http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/3.0a3/releasenotes/

Firefox 3 browser version supports a format of animated PNG-files - APNG, which is a simpler alternative to MNG.

Taking into consideration that the format PNG didn't receive much popularity because of the fact, that Microsoft Internet Explorer (till version 7) supported it only partly without any ability to use its all advantages, I doubt, that IE will support APNG, if it's not standardized by W3C.

And even the support of the browsers, such as Opera (beginning with version 9,5), will not influence its spreading.

What are the goals and perspectives of this format?

What is your opinion?
