Re: Concluding discussion on #612 (9.2.2)

I'm fine with Martin's PR, and would even be fine combining it somehow
with ekr's proposal up-thread. They make the language clearer. Any
weakening or removal of the language in 9.2.2 gets a big "no" from me.
