It's not permitted to reduce the TCP advertised window, so you can't send a 0 window size after you've already opened the window to receive the request headers of unknown size. RFC 1122, section 4.2.2.16: "A TCP receiver SHOULD NOT shrink the window" "Many TCP implementations become confused if the window shrinks from the right after data has been sent into a larger window.
