Okay, how about Digest Authentication.  There is a complete draft
specification.  It has been implemented in Spyglass browsers and 
several servers.  It would be great if it could make it into NCSA
browsers and servers.  It is much easier that SHTTP (no cost, no
legal entanglements) and it would meet a lot of peoples needs.
