<meta... without the end ">" and character "&#0;"

Hi

is there an option in tidy which automaticly encloses the tag in bad html ?
I have seen it many times in html pages a begining tag not closed with > :
<meta name="..". content=".. " 
<meta ....>

Sometimes tidy adds the character reference "&#0;". for example into the page http://auctions.yahoo.com/.
Is there a solution to supress this reference?
